Causes Of Cat’s Excessive Fur Shedding

Excessive fur shedding is one of the most frequent and problematic of problem for a cat’s owner.

 

Among the causes of a cat’s fur shedding are:

1. Flea / Lice

  • Causes severe itchiness and irritation on the cat’s skin which may cause the cat to over-groom itself which may leads to injury and shedding fur

 

2. Diet

  • A lack of high quality source of protein will result in thinner, more brittle hair and leads to hair loss.

  • Avoid feeding your cat food with high quantity of salt and artificial colouring.

 

3. Stress

  • A stressed out cat will groom itself more intensely which can cause more fur shed than normal. Sometimes to the point of creating a bald spot of it’s own body.
